Tattersalls Hotel in Barringun
Tattersalls Hotel
Tattersalls Hotel
Located half a mile south of the Qld/NSW border.
Once one of four hotels servicing a population of 180 and passing traffic. Now the only Pub in town and a town population of four (sometimes 3)meaning there is a fair chance you can see the entire town at the front bar.
Publican Mary Cawley is 83 years old and has been Publican for 31 years (Feb 2008.)
The Tattersalls Hotel was originally established in the 1870's and is still the original Building. The kitchen was moved into the main Pub building in 1938. The Pub has no accommodation available.
The building adjoining the Hotel on the right of the photo is an old Queensland Police Station moved there by the previous Publican, Jim.
No draught beer, stubbies and cans are offered.
Top Pub and Mary is happy to be in a photo with you.
