The second oldest hotel name operating in the Cessnock area. Original license granted to Henry Smallshaw in 1891 with 5 more licensees until federation 1901.

Burn't down 1926 when located at 51 New England Highway.

Current Commercial built at this address and opened 1929 with a further 25 different licensees up to 1999

Fully renovated in early 2007, Branxton Hotel now offers luxury Bed & Breakfast accommodation, leaving only one operating Pub in Branxton, a town that once boasted six.
