The town features the historic Tumblong Tavern (formerly Adelong Crossing Hotel) and retains its country charm despite the closure of its railway station in 1975 and school in 1990. Covering 129 square kilometres, Tumblong serves as a quiet rural gateway to the broader Riverina region.
