In 2002, the Cunnamulla Indigenous Economic Development Agency received funding from the Department of Employment and Training to
convert the abandoned Shearer's Arms Hotel into a training skills centre.
The Cunnamulla Skill Centre was opened in 2002 and now providesformal training for a range of industries, including tourism, for the entire Cunnamulla and Paroo Shire.
16/11/09 - Due to go to auction on 12 Nov 2009, the training centre is not continuing. The building is severely termite ridden and may have to be torn down. - Dirk Egan
