Francis Hotel in Thallon
Francis Hotel
Francis Hotel
Thallon was gazetted in 1911. Development followed, stores opened and a Hotel was built to cater for the employees of the railway line which had arrived from Talwood. The town was named after the then Commissioner of Railways Mr J F Thallon.
Borger's Thallon Hotel opened for business in November 1911. Unfortunately in 1940 it was destroyed by fire and the present two storey Hotel was built on the site.
Clean budget accommodation is available in the Hotel and also in the nearby Railway Quarters.
A General Store, Tourist Information and Post Office are also located at the Hotel.
The Dining Room is open for family friendly meals 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is available for Hotel guests or by arrangement. We also cater for group/corporate events. Barista Coffee now available!
