Information on Newcastle Waters Township, 0862

Named it after the Duke of Newcastle, Secretary for the Colonies. Small town now virtually a ghost town. The old local store and Pub preserved as historic buildings.

The township was named after the local Cattle Station "Newcastle Waters"

The advent of Road Trains meant that the Town was no longer needed by drovers.
